Spirits’ Book Study Meetings (English) Sunday mornings 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. During these meetings we read from Kardec’s The Spirits’ Book, and discuss the subjects introduced. These meetings are held in English. At present, these meetings are held in person and online on Zoom simultaneously. Gospel Study Meetings (English and Portuguese) Sunday mornings 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. During these meetings we read from Kardec’s The Gospel According to Spiritism, and discuss the subjects introduced. We also do a virtual pass at the end. These meetings alternate each week between English and Portuguese. At present, these meetings are held in person and online on Zoom simultaneously. Everyone is welcome! No prior knowledge of Spiritist teachings is required. Having your own books is also not necessary. Our meetings are normally held in a second-floor space at 1808 Main Street and on Zoom. Doors are opened at least 15 minutes before each meeting. Our organization was built as a common ground for those seeking to learn and practice Spiritism, whether they are secular or religious, and no matter what religion they might practice. All are welcome!
Our mission is to provide free spiritual services performed by unpaid volunteers, including opportunities for structured charitable work, and opportunities to learn and practice Spiritism based on Allan Kardec’s codification for those who are and are not religious, with a focus on self-improvement.
Our vision is of a stronghold of spiritual light reinforced through charitable work, promoting the values of universal love, charity, and selflessness, welcoming all peoples and working as one regardless of religious affiliation or lack thereof, and bringing the consoling teachings of the Spiritist doctrine to all who seek them.
Winnipeg Spiritist Society incorporated as a non-share corporation on November 15, 2020 under The Manitoba Corporations Act C.C.S.M. c. C225, and became a registered charity under the Charities Directorate of Canada on September 21, 2021, under Advancement of Education, Advancement of Religion, and Relief of Poverty. Our registered charity number is 799504865 RR0001.
